THE MUSICAL TATTER

Another one of my creations

As you can see, I like to add tatting to what I create and not in the traditional way. This was a plain white metal mailbox and I altered it by gluing my hand dyed paper to it and then added my tatting. In the future, you'll probably see other items to which I have added my tatting. I also like making greeting cards with tatting on the card front. One of my favorite items to tatt are tatted bookmarks. I make them because they are practical and look beautiful when used in a Bible and vintage books. Even though tatting is almost a "lost art" there are many tatting lovers out there and we are bound and determined that tatting will continue on for people to enjoy. Many of my items that I am showing can be purchased on my Etsy site which is www.lllangel.etsy.com.

Hi Linda,
I'd love to see more of how you use your tatting differently from the normal doilies and edgings.

Tatting may be lost at one time but not anymore. At least, I don't think so. The community is growing daily as I read about more and more tatters from the internet. There are several online groups that focus on tatting and the membership are growing as well.

I really enjoyed reading about how you started your doll business... good for you! I'd have never been focused enough or brave enough to take the steps you've taken. I look forward to seeing how you use lace in different ways.

Oh, my goodness...what gets deposited in that mail box? Love letters? or Lacy tatted hearts? Or BOTH?
Very creative I LOVE seeing tatting being set with a mixed media project. It's so delightfully pretty!

Hello,

This is amazing! Tatting is an ancient art that is so back!
I love the incredible designs that come out of it!

Thanks for sharing! I love your tatting and your beautiful designs. I just purchased two more mailboxes to alter - a red one and a pink one - so I look forward to sharing them in the future at Create With Joy!
